Industrial Drum Filling
Automatic drum filling machine for 50L–200L drums with auto drum positioning and anti-drip valve options. Net-weight tolerance, throughput and ATEX documentation scope are reviewed by RFQ.

RFQ preparation
A drum filling quote depends on container handling, safety classification and dosing method. These inputs help engineering decide whether the line needs net-weight filling, flow-meter filling, ATEX parts, capping, labeling or pallet handling.
Send Project DetailsProduct name, viscosity, density, SDS, flash point and whether the area is non-hazardous, Zone 1 or Zone 2.
50-200L steel or plastic drum, bung or open-top style, empty-drum loading method and full-drum discharge method.
Required drums per hour, single-head or dual-head expectation, shift schedule and future growth buffer.
Confirm whether the quote should include filling only, capping, bung tightening, weighing records, labeling, conveyors or pallet handling.
Four-point load cell platform weighs the drum continuously during fill. Fast-fill to a reviewed portion of target weight, slow top-off to target target. PLC updates weight 200 times/second for sub-100g accuracy on a 200kg fill. Automatic tare compensation for drum weight variation eliminates pre-weigh steps.
Roller conveyor with servo-driven stop/start positions each drum precisely under the fill head within by RFQ. No operator intervention required between drums. Empty drum detection prevents false fills. Full drum detection confirms fill completion before conveyor indexes to the next position.
Pneumatically actuated anti-drip valve at fill head closure prevents liquid from dripping onto drum exterior. Essential for paint, coating and chemical drum filling where exterior contamination causes labeling adhesion failures and customer complaints. Drip tray below fill head captures any minor leakage.
Our drum filling machine achieves tolerance by RFQ on 200L drums — equating to by RFQ on a 200kg fill. This is achieved through net-weight load cell control with a fast-slow fill approach: fast fill to approximately a reviewed portion of target weight, then slow precision top-off to the target target. The four-point load cell platform updates at 200 samples/second, allowing sub-100g resolution on heavy containers. For comparison, volumetric filling systems typically achieve by RFQ on large drums.
Our drum filling machines handle: paints and coatings (water-based and solvent-based), lubricants and motor oils (wide viscosity range), chemical products including acids, alkalis and industrial solvents (with appropriate wetted part materials), food-grade liquids (cooking oils, syrups, liquid food ingredients), and pharmaceutical-grade bulk liquids. Wetted part material options include SUS304/316L for corrosive chemicals, HDPE and PTFE for highly acidic/alkaline products, and carbon steel for non-corrosive applications.
ATEX documentation is required when filling flammable liquids with flash point below 60°C (including most organic solvents, alcohols, petroleum products and flammable paints). Our standard drum filling machines are documentation reviewed for non-hazardous applications. ATEX Zone 1 (Ex d IIB T4 Gb) versions are available for continuous explosive atmosphere environments. Zone 2 versions for occasional explosive atmosphere exposure are also available. We recommend specifying your target product flash point and vapor pressure so we can confirm the required ATEX category.
A single-head drum filling machine achieves 60–80 drums/hour for most products. High-speed versions achieve up to 120 drums/hour for low-viscosity liquids with fast settle time on the load cell. For higher throughput requirements, dual-head configurations double capacity to 120–240 drums/hour on a single conveyor. A complete drum filling line (empty drum depalletizing, filling, capping, bung wrench sealing, labeling and palletizing) occupies approximately 20–35 meters and can be designed to your specific factory layout.
