The minimum practical fill weight depends on the powder type and auger size. For a micro servo auger (4mm diameter): 0.1g–2g fills; commonly used for pharmaceutical micro-dose sachets, flavour concentrates, instant espresso single-serve sachets. For a small servo auger (8–12mm): 1g–30g fills; spice sachets, individual coffee sachets, protein sample packs. For a standard small auger (15–20mm): 5g–200g fills; standard spice jars, small protein bags, supplement pouches. Realistic small machine output rates: 0.5g–10g fills: 8–15 fills/min → ~480–900 units/hr. 10g–100g fills: 6–12 fills/min → ~360–720 units/hr. 100g–500g fills: 4–8 fills/min → ~240–480 units/hr. For a single operator on an 8-hour shift: 0.5g spice sachets: ~3,200–7,200 packs/shift; 100g spice jars: ~1,920–3,840 jars/shift; 500g protein bags: ~960–1,920 bags/shift. When output requirements grow beyond 500 units/hr consistently, a semi-automatic or fully automatic machine is more economical.
