Free-flowing granules are often better suited to a weighing or gravity-feeding system, while fine or cohesive powders may require auger feeding or another controlled dosing method. For ammonium sulfate (ammonium sulphate) and similar fertilizer products, provide particle-size distribution, bulk density, moisture, dust level, flow behavior, caking tendency and target bag weight. The supplier should use these inputs to determine whether the project belongs to the granule, powder or combined handling route.
What material data is needed before quoting a fertilizer bagging machine?โพ
Provide the product name, SDS where applicable, particle-size range, bulk density, moisture content, flow description, dust behavior, abrasiveness, corrosivity and whether the material tends to cake. Add the operating temperature, plant environment and cleaning method. For the package, provide bag material, bag dimensions, target weight, closure method and sample photos or bags. These details affect the hopper, feeder, weighing method, contact material, dust extraction, bag support and closing equipment. A representative material sample is recommended before the final design is frozen.
How should a buyer choose the weighing and feeding principle for granules?โพ
Compare gravity feeding, vibratory feeding, linear weighing, multi-head weighing and net-weight filling against the actual material and package. The review should consider particle size, bulk density, flow consistency, fragility, dust, target weight, bag style, output target and cleaning needs. Ask the supplier to explain the proposed coarse- and fine-feed sequence, weighing arrangement and discharge path. Final accuracy and output should be confirmed with representative material and the intended package rather than copied from a general catalogue.
How should a granule filling configuration be verified before purchase?โพ
Agree the sample, package, target weights, number of consecutive test packs, allowed deviation, output target and reject method before the test. The review should also cover product damage, dust, bridging, recipe changeover, calibration, cleaning access and interfaces with the bagger, conveyor or closing equipment. If the buyer's production material is unavailable for the factory test, identify the substitute material and document which checks must be repeated with the real product during site commissioning.
